Here's the deal: Around 9-10 months ago I won a sweepstakes on IGN for "Win your wishlist". On my list I had Half-Life 2 (top 5 games) and they said they would pre-order it for me. Back then, Gamestore was powered by Gamestop so by my logic Gamestop should STILL have my pre-order. (I keep getting "Release Date changed!" notifications so I think I'm still on the system).
Now, I am a die-hard HL2 fan but I also want to save money. Is it worth it to buy Gold package when I'm getting a free copy? Or should I just buy the strategy guide seperate. But what about DOD:S and HL:S? Are they free already? I already have all of Valve's back catalog so that's not a loss.
I'm just confoozled.
Reasons to buy Gold:
* Neat merchandise (hat, stickers, posters...)
* Strat guide
* DOD:S and HL:S
Reasons not to:
* Free copy of HL2 anyways
* Can buy strat guide for $17
* Buy (if not already free) DOD:S and HL:S seperate
* Saves $90
