Advise for laptop

ok i'm a complete n00b when it comes to computer specifications. (not like i'm a complete genuis in other things but hey anyway..)
question: if I were to buy a great laptop, what brands/models would you suggest?
i want it to be able to run games smoothly without any trouble, and be as light as possible.

Depending upon your budget, I'd suggest looking at Dell, Falcon Northwest, Alienware, and Asus. I believe all of them allow for laptop customization. If you want a light laptop, you'll need to sacrifice a bit of power for it. You just can't have both.

i got the dell inspiron last monday . the specs are in my signature. i got for only $1086. it is abit heavy but u can play games really well like stalker and hl2. i really like it.

Only the higher-end laptops are any good at all for gaming.

As long as you're getting 2GHz, 2GB of RAM and a videocard that is a 7000/8000-series Geforce or a 1000/2000-series Radeon with 256MB RAM, then you'll be okay.
