ahhh...whats wrong?

so...i can start a new game in half life 2 with no errors. if i then exit the game, and load later on, i get a message saying "Node Graph out of date. Rebuilding." after a bit, that message goes away, but now none of the animations work - the other character's faces dont move, their eyes are stuck in one position. this makes it impossible to advance, and no matter how many times i load/restart, i still get the same problem when loading a game.

does anyone know how to solve this problem?

im running a (fresh out of the box...just got it today ) GeForce 7600 GT
*note: i dont think its a problem with my card, because a couple days ago i was getting the same error with my other card too.

I got that error once on a mod. It went away after a restart though.

LOL this may be old but.............My steam games all work free of charge, any game for free, all with working net play, never had any probs ever, $19 is way people like me do this..............

tyrlians,

I am having the exact same problem, ie. plays well the first time, but not after that... mine freezes just after a load point...

I DID buy a copy... but still, I'm having difficulties. Some are claiming it is the Dual core processer (is that what you have?), but turning off one of the cores, does not remedy the situation...

any help will be appreciated,
