As the topic says, the mod I and a few other guys have been working on (as a bachelor thesis) has its alpha release this wenesday (later wenesday +1 GMT no exact time set as of yet) and we need a few people to try out the game and then answer a few simple questons to help us make the mod better. It shouldn't take too much time.
Alright, short about the mod then. It's a HL2 MP space mod where you fly around in a space ship in different sci-fi settings. For the alpha we're looking to use a moon base, so the maps are not too big but stil you have the space elements of no gravity etc.
-The gameplay itself is basically team deathmatch and the focus of the game is fast action with instant respawn if you die.
-The weapons are picked up and not bought as in CS. I'm not going to go into details on what weapons but for the final product we're looking to incorporate laser weapons and such too, but for alpha release we have the main cannon and missiles.
-The ship can also move in almost any direction, and can rotate around all tre axis (unlike for example CS where you could only rotate through the x-axis).
-In order to be able to flee and to aviod the problems of fast deathmatch that you kill one guy and then get owned yourself we have the boost ability which gives you aruond twice the speed, making it easier for you to flee from enemies (or to pull off some tactic moves).
Anyways, just some features from the game. There's lots more on power ups and stuff but it's probably not going to be incorporated to the alpha release and maybe not at all so no point in talking about it.
I hope I'm making some sense on what the game is about, and hope someone could spare 15-20 mins for some testing. Our focus is on gameplay, so even though the content may seem weak our priority is to have quality content instead of large quantities of content with low quality. That's why we need testers
