I'm really hungry for more HL2, and the only way it has been fed recently is that sweet article about Episode 2 in the latest PC Gamer.

I've been getting into Lost a lot this year (half way through season 2), and I've noticed the huge alternative reality game it has. Now if I was following the series on ABC as each episode was released, I'd be all over the ARG. I'm trying to keep myself away from the ARG now, because I'm afraid some of it will contain information that is from an episode I haven't seen yet.

Anyways, my point is, I think Valve should create some sort of ARG. I have two ideas. One would be a network used by the Resistance. The other would be a stray Combine transmission from the Citadel that somehow got caught on the internet.

Maybe these are just dumb ideas, but I'm dying for more HL2. I don't know how Marc Laidlaw operates on a day-to-day basis with Valve, but you'd think he might be able to squeeze in something like this.

Define "Alternative Reality Game".

I don't see what you trying to say. Nobody else does either it seems?

It's like that ilovebees thing for Halo 2. Some things that have to do with the Half Life universe occur in real life. Obviously not actual events, but things that progress a story. For instance, audio getting released over the internet, or you recieve a phone call or something gets mailed to you.

He means the Hanso Foundation thing. Remember The Halo one with ilovebees.com? Oh and if you want a defintion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternate_Reality_Game :D

Personally, i'm not to keen on ARGs so I'm coming short on ideas for what they could do for this. In fact, i'd rather they didn't :P

Valves had fun with us before...
remember the secrets?

Yes, with the official Half-Life 2 site. I didn't participate, but I was there to see all of it happen.
