Alyx not responding

I am at the place where we are finished playing with Dawg and the combine are atacking - Alyx's father has told us to run and Dawn breaks out of the air lock - Alyx tells me to come out and then just stands there and the game will not proceed. It is not the ai_disable 0 story, I have tried that. I dont know what to do. Any Ideas.

I had a similar problem when I installed the HL: Substance mod. Right after the part when Alyx rescues you at the very beginning, she opens the elevator, and NEVER gets in. I tried reloading multiple times. I even tried deleting local game content, validating files...ad naseum I concluded that HL: Substance was a piece anyways, and this just confirmed my suspicions. Do you have HL: Substance?

Try rebooting her, works with my computer

Alternatively, just try reloading the map

when she stops working, quicksave, and load it. Try move around and do more quicksaves and quickload, if it wont work the first time.

how do you reload your map

the Quicksave and load does not work - everytime i load the ai is disabled and I need to use the console to enable it - after enabling it she is still not responding

Why is the ai disabled when you load? I'd go and check your config.cfg file in your C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\youraccounthere\half-life 2\hl2\cfg folder. Open it in notepad and ensure that ai_disable isn't in there.

Depends which cheek....One will usually get a slap if stroking the wrong cheeks

ai_disable 1 <enter>
ai_norebuildgraph 1 <enter>
