I admit it may seem like I was being hypocritical, but actually, I was saying that PSP games are literally exactly the same as their PS2 predecessors. Syphon filter, street fighter, football games, ridge racer... they're all just the same. If you want to spend £200 on a console which plays PS2 games, that's fine by me, but why don't you just get a PS2.. it's easier.

The games I listed for the DS may be well known Nintendo titles, but that doesn't mean they're not new games. Ummm, Metroid Prime, for instance, is the first console game in which you're actually able to AIM. Ever. The only game I listed which wasn't considerably improved or unique was Mario Kart DS.

Dreadlord: How low it is of you to play the fanboy card. You are being as much of a "fanboy" as Suicide is.

The PSP has recreations of PS2 games, that play just the same, but on a smaller screen.

Nearly all DS games have completely ORIGINAL gameplay, primarily due to the unique, innovative, and fun stylus.

You could conclude that DS wins in the games catagory.

As for graphics... Sure, the PSP has better rendering capability... But listen, good looking game != good graphics. It's about, like someone said earlier, STYLE. Why the hell do I even need good graphics on such a small screen. I really doubt I'm going to notice extra polygons. The PSP only has good graphics because all its games are clones of console games, which need good graphics.
DS games on the other hand look great, and usually have a very creative style to them.

You could conclude that the DS games look better (not have more polygons) than PSP games.

This is all I care to argue about as of now. You need to stop the flaming btw. It only makes you look childish.

BTW, Suicide, you said the Advance Wars on the DS plays like an RTS? As in real time? Not like the turn-based previous games? This interests me.

I recently saw an article on Gamasutra.com on "Nintendo DS vs PSP" and it was generally reader/consumer feedback from people who had bought both the PSP and DS.

Most people thought the DS was the superior product in terms of value and quality of games.

I'm thinking about buying a DS but i already own a Gamecube and a PS2. Not to mention i recently upgraded my computer. I don't really want to be anymore geeky than i already am now.

True. Plus its just really hard to have a meaningful thread about something that comes down to personal preference in the first place. This one was doomed to fail I suppose. The best advice one can give is:

--look at the games for each system
--look at the other potential functionality of each system
--look at your wallet

Then decide on which system to pick with your new set of data that matters to you and not anyone else, esp. the flamers and loonies in this thread.

Actually, the DS is outselling the PSP everywhere in the world, so I think your the retard. And why does every post you make have you flaming uselesely and being a general dickhead? And wilho talking about how "mature" he is. The PSP is a good system, with some good games like Metal Gear Solid,GTA and Burnout, but, imho, they are basicly PS2 games and don't provide the unique experience that the DS brings.
