Am I crazy or miss something? Changes since release?

Okay, so I got the game right when it came out, played for a ways until about the coast, and then real life happened for about 2 years and I didn't touch the game. :upstare:

So, I just reinstalled it with my brand new shiny hardware (omg awesome experience now), and finished the game.

I thought i remembered some place around the coast, with a fairly tall/skinny tower I was climbing up, and combines in it. And it was kinda above water or something, with some lower concrete pierish areas. No, not the citadel, much earlier, around the coast area. This was the point that I stopped playing.

But upon replaying it, I didn't see anywhere like that at all. Did they re-work some of the levels since release, or am I just off my rocker here, or did I perhaps just miss the area??

The only building I know with that description around that area is the lighthouse. You have to go through it after fighting off a gunship, to take the secret path along the cliff.



Id this what you're talking about?
 
The gantry with the magnet on it? Because that's the only place I can think of. Unless you're talking about Lost Coast, which is a separate, free, downloadable level. Was there a missile launcher thing?
 
No, it wasn't the lighthouse, I think it was after that as I seem to remember doing the 'underside of the bridge' part when the gunship comes.

What is a gantry? And no it wasn't Lost Coast, it was right when the game came out.

Maybe I'm just crazy.

Edit: Oh I see that a gantry is the underside of a bridge :)
 
Damn. I was afraid of that. :|

I remember it fairly vividly though. There were some longish empty concrete docks, and I seem to remember some head crabs down in the water. And the tower I thought had some of those canopy deals on it. It was definately overlooking an ocean though.

So can anyone 100% guarantee me there were no significant level changes since release? And the game is so linear I doubt I could have 'wandered off' and found it. Maybe I dreamed it!

Well, I DEFINATELY remember doing the bridge part, and I *kinda* remember doing antlions, but I know I DEFINATELY did not make it through Nova Prospekt. There's no other ocean/water after that right?

So... I went and noclip'd around all the levels in between there and I didn't see anything either.

Sooo..I'm just going to try REALLY hard to forget about this even though my brain is bugging the crap out of me. If it doesn't stop it I'm about to bust out the crowbar. STOP IT DAMNIT! *WHACK WHACK WHACK* There was no tower. There was no tower. Okay I'm better.

No, I meant when you had to move around the car using the car magnet. Not quite sure what it's called... abyway, what with all the info you've given, it seems you must be crazy. Good day, sir.

You sound like you're talkin' bout the crane bit where you swing your care around. I remember their being a tall-ish tower around there, some docks, but no headcrabs that i remember.

Wait, it might be in highway17 where u have to go up to some kinda bridge in order to disable forcfield. There is some barancles, headcrabs, combine and gunship after u disable the forcfield.
 
omg how can u guys not remember this

hes obviously talking about the citadelette ... its on an island near one of the houses on highway 17 ... u find a rowboat in the house and take it over to the island ... fight ur way up the citadelette and rescue odessa cubbage from the g-man

gee whiz sometimes i think im the only one that played the game around here

To tell you the truth, I don't remember. Probably something that was already stated in the thread.
 
i cant think of anything but are u sure it was dat area.or was it one ov dem lil houses above the sea lol cuz der is a few ov dem.
 
Unless he just posted "delete", I'm pretty sure we'd get an "edited by Salmon" or something.
