Another question

I was thinking again about Half-Life 2 and I was wondering about the A.I and difficulty settings. I searched the Valve info thread again and couldn't turn up much, so I was wondering if anyone knew how changing the difficulty setting from hard to medium would affect the game. For example, would it make the enemys less intelligent, and if so, would it affect friendly units too? Or would it just scale down the amount of enemys present?
If no one knows, I guess I'll have to send another mail to valve and hope they reply this time.
 
VALVe said it changes their accuracy, health and sheer numbers.
 
Ah.. I take it nothing has been said about wether this applies to friendly units too?

Not as far as I know :) Try doing a search in the VALVe info thread, but you're right, that information doesn't ring a bell

I wasn't being negative in saying "search the valve info thread," I was suggesting it for the allied AI thing.

But then again, my statement was redundant because he did indeed search it..
 
i know this is off topic and all but i showed half life 2 to friend of mine on tv and started humping it. the mo fo broke my tv.

I sure hope they'' be able to shoot faster and more accurate than in the E3 movies, cause they aren't really much of a challenge, are they?
 
No yet, but they throw grenades at you if you take cover ......

E32k4 movies were either on easy or medium as stated by Valve. Probably easy as the headcrab does 5 damage.
 
With spirit of Half-life you could do cool stuff like only spawn stuff or open doors if they are playing on a certain hardness setting. Spirit rulled.
 
Anyone any clue if the enemies are the only thing affected by the difficulty setting?

Or would it also affect how many medkits and ammo (etc) you'd find? And other stuff?
 
it won't take long before some clever young fellow (or fellass) makes spirit for HL2, if its not already largely redundant
