You know how you look through the spy/binoculars and you see the col. talking to the G-Man? Remember how the G-Man says that he has been recieving offers from clients and what not, what if the Col. is a possible client??? just a theory....

-Q

Possible, as he also says to you "You're the right man for the job" after you killed that flying "thing" (don't know their name ;-))

I also noticed that Colonel Odessa is wearing a "security" jacket, I thought that was a nice nod to the first game - to have a security guard helping to lead the resistance (along with Barney of course!).

As for him being a client, I think that the resistance did not hire Freeman, but rather other clients interested in seeing the end of the Combine, or at least the end of Combine control of Earth and Xen, hired Gordon through the G-Man. I think the G-man then approached the human resistance and they took his offer without realising exactly what was behind it but being desperate for any help they could get. Any thoughts on that?

clearly the g-man is the british guy's father
and also a godzilla

and alyx's bastard son

hitler?

I dont think that the resistance hired Freeman either, but possibly the reason Odessa doesnt go out and fight and keeps himself safe is that he is seeing how good gordon is by taking down a gunship or two. I dont believe that he's a pawn of the G-Man though, because he doesnt actualy engage in combat at all, and even though you possibly dont have to engage in combat to be a pawn, he isnt realy a ESSENCIAL asset to the ressistance. He doesnt start anything major, but he is in an out of the way base that Freeman just happens to be going through. He just happens to give you the rocket launcher, telling you that your the right man for the job. That's why i think he is possibly one of the people that have made "an interesting offer"

Another thought, i dont think that the offers the G-Man got were money, but possibly weapons technoligy, technoligy in genral, and general things (eg. Cure to all types of cancer and diseases)

Any more thoughts?

kind of impossible to tell, since we don't know anything about Odessa.

I think it's safe to assume that he's another "agent" of the G-Man, except perhaps he is voluntary.

I missed the whole scene, didn't even notice it.

yea but if he was a pawn of the G-Man why would the G-Man be talking to him at that time, he doesnt talk to you at all in the whole game, with the exceptions of the start and end of the game.

*Edit* He is also talking to you about your success of the mission and if Odessa had a mission, it might not have been that great if the G-Man is talking to him at that time in the resistance, But if he is talking about the start of his mission, i have no idea what his mission would be, i still think that he's another person with an offer.

I think that the Gman was just giving the Col. the RPG. I mean it was a funny time to give a weapon demo?

Maybe this is the set up for Blue Shift HL2? Unless they want to have you play as Barney, they might as well have the character set up for Blue Shift.

Here's my theory.

Below reference to ending of the game.

V_V

In the end, the GMan states Gordon has done MUCH in a small timespan.

Now let's look at everything we've done in Half-Life 2.

The below are sumaries of each chapter. *DONT READ UNLESS* You have completed the game. Dont whine and bitch if you ruined your gaming experience by reading the below before completeing the game.

Entanglement: Meet up with Alyx. Find Eli. Send Eli to portal room. Find out Mossman is in league w/ Breen. Confront Mossman. Go to portal room. Mossman teleports w/ Eli to Citadel. Gordon and Alyx teleport to Kliener's lab before the place goes boom boom. Reach Kliener's lab. Dialog about 'slow teleport' and the events in the past week.

Alot has been done. Many more than one job was forfilled in those 3 days (not including week in limbo) that Gordon spent in City 17.
