Antlion Guardian Chase question.

Why is it, throughout the many times I've played Episode 2, that I've never, EVER, experienced the Antlion Guardian chase in the tunnels, yet, everyone I've talked to, has.

Also when I get outside, I end up facing the Antlion Guardian and an Antlion Guard.

I mean, if it were a glitch with my copy, a reinstall would probably fix it, or heck, it would even be fixed even after a fresh install when I reformatted like 2 times (not because of this, just because I had to).

Any ideas one why I haven't gotten it ever?

That's really weird... I don't think it's even possible to skip it.

Yeah... pretty damn strange.

I mean, I see the guardian once or twice on the way down there, behind a wall and such, but after that I don't see him again till I get outside.

It's not really that big of a deal, it's just a chase, but it's such an exciting and well done part (with the AI and all).

Wait do you have a pirated copy? this could easliy happen on that. Otherwise, i think thats extremely odd, and funny

A pirated copy would be my first guess as well.

Assuming it's not some of that chapter triggers must be glitched try verifying your cache files.

Nope it's a legit copy. (Got Orange Box on Christmas)

I'll try verifying my cache files, but what's so weird is the transition throughout the chapter is just so smooth. I go through it, end up down where the elevator is, do all that stuff, I get the extract and go back to the elevator and take it up.

You don't even notice that a part is missing, it's pretty strange.

Unfortunately, I've never played it.

The only times I've ever seen it is in videos

Try comparing the videos with your game and see exactly what you're missing.

Maybe you just didnt see the guardian and got lucky to not be killed from behind by it. I dunno though , it is quite loud.

I thought that as well lol but I figured I would have at least gotten hit once or something.

By the way, I could only find one video on it on Youtube (which is weird since I seen more before) and none of that area looks familiar.

I'm going to play through it soon anyways so I'll see if maybe it works this time.

Well , be on the look out for real small tunnels covered in blood. If you have to go through several in a small time period then thats the right place.

If all else fails, reinstall Episode Two and hope for the best

The chase is heart pounding and exhilrating, especially if you're low on health. Great part of the game, shame you can't play it.

Watch the ones for "This Vortal Coil", and tells us what parts are missing, because this seems real strange to just remove a whole part of the game so seamlessly.
