Is there a solution to that freaking freeze problem i get with episode 1?!

I don't understand why a patch or something hasn't been released by valve...
I updated my drivers but although it doesn't freeze as often as it did, i still get it every 10-15 mintues which results in me having to restart my pc.

maybe it's your windows config or something ?

got a 'bad' programm running in the background ? ;)

no freezing for me,too

i had this problem where i couldnt see some stuff... like wall chargers for health and the suit, healthpacks etc. in the elevator sequence , i couldnt see the large objects crashing down. and the walls appeared a strange red latticework pattern. all problems were solved after i re -installed

Err - what freezing problem? Must be a fault at your end, because I've never heard of it, and neither has anyone else, by the sounds of it...

Try turning a heater on?....

Or the solution could be fixing / upgrading your PC.

man you haven't heard of this problem?

Theres like a 50+ page on it on the valve forums....and so far no one has come up with a solution for it.

What happens is i start playing, then out of nowhere the game freezes and the last sound i heard is looped..it's the most annoying thing ever.

P4 2.8ghz
1GB RAM
Radeon 9600 pro (which ran DooM 3 and HL2 with no problems also ran Lost Coast with no problems).

I had the same problem with my PC.. which was:

Athlon64 3000
1GB RAM
Radeon X800GT
Onboard Sound

Then I upgraded the RAM to 1.5GB... problem solved (much smoother too)
