are walkthroughs random

I downloaded a walkthrough, because I knew I would need it. I find my walkthrough is rather different from the actual game.

No walkthroughs aren't random if they are about the game and not some mock up of shit.

gamefaqs.com has some good walkthroughs.

Get the right walkthrough before playing by the way.

Make sure you got the right walkthrough. There's Half-Life 1, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, Half-Life 2 and Episode One out there. You could have easily gotten a walkthrough for the wrong one. Also, I'm pretty sure that this site has a HL2 walkthrough so maybe you should check that out.

The walkthrough was almost on. A lot of the things were correct. There were some things that weren't the same is all. I'll go to gamefaqs (sp) and download another one. I've gotten to the kanals so I have a fair idea of what should be happening.

BTW: Xendance. You might say I'm not a one post virgin any more.

Winlok, if you need a walkthrough then you're going to miss out on a great game.

The only time I use walkthroughs are for RPGs because I don't want to play the game 10 times to find everything besides they are more like reference pages than walkthroughs.

i agree man, you will enjoy the game so much more if you figure it out yourself. if you stone cold stuck and about to kill yourself because you dont know what to do; then use a walkthrough. also i doubt you will need one. hl2 is very linear.

Yeah, HL2 mostly doesn't need a walkthrough at all, unless you get stuck at the later puzzles.

Agreed. It's very easy, if you know a few little tricks.

Walkthroughs take all the fun out of it. No sense of achievement.

However, winlok - would you care to elaborate on how the walkthrough is different? Or link us to it so we can read it ourselves. I'd be quite interested to know.
