Ok i know im gona get flamed but from what ive heard recently nVidia makes its chipsets to perform well on benchmarks but they dont care about actual performance and that theyre driver releases are a bunch of bullshit. is it worth switchin to ATi, if you have a 9800 pro plz tell me your satisfied with the product.

this is like the third one of these in the past week.....

will a mod please close it.

i do not intend this to be a"flame" but you should not believe everything you hear(or read).

use some common sense dude, optimizations written for games will also make benchmarks that run on the same engine perform better too, such as ut2003, Q3, doom3..etc..etc... the benchmarks the games use run on the very same thing the games themselves do. the reason benchmarks improve with each new driver release is because the driver has new and better optimizations written into it. so trying to claim "nVidia makes its chipsets to perform well on benchmarks but they dont care about actual performance" is factually inaccurate when it comes to these and other games and benchmarks produced from them.

also remember ATI wrote optimizations as well, a FACT many people seem to gloss over for some reason....

having had personal hands on experience with the full range of cards ATI and Nvidia produce i can honestly tell you the 5900 spanks the 9800 pro in most things, especially doom3 and is far more stable with less compatibility issues.

"use some common sense dude"
I would really really like some proof or more info to this statement that also the games run better. As for now, it's BS.
They did, did they? Tell me all about it.
That D3 pre-beta? Yeah, that some relieable benchmark

...The only thing that nVidia currently spanks is the monkey! :p

ROFL!!! you want "proof" that optimizations written for games also improve thier benchmarks?

try thinking about it a bit... lets say for example the "br549" driver has optimizations that improve performance over the previous driver in a certain game, and the game includes a benchmarking utility that is basically a demo of the game itself that calculates framerate....

now ask yourself..if game performance is improved will the benchmark that is basically the game running itself and calculating fps improve as well? i do not see how it would not be, since you disagree could you perhaps show the logic behind your thinking as i have done?
