Backing up!

Ok before any of you say use the Search, i did!!

Im doin a format, i cant find the back up utility, so i reesarched, and easiest way seems to back up the Gcf files.

Jus wonderin where they are?? and how to back em up of course!? : D : D

on steam main menu, bring up the play games menu.

then right click the game u want to back up and select properties.

from there you can back up your game files thro steam.

I would recommend backing up the GCF files manually, the steam utility is not that reliable.

They've just made changes to the backup utility that should've fixed it...last week I think.

I thought they had but I wasn't sure. Haven't tried it since the update.

was wondering does the backup utility do maps aswell, n third party mods ooo and does it put it all back where it came from with no real problems?

I don't think it does custom content. If you want to backup MOD's just backup the sourcemods folder or the halflife folder if you are backing up hl1 mods.
