barney leads the way

i'm up to the part where i take out the generators and then barney leads me to the roof...........the only problem is that barney is not doing his job....he just keeps yelling "this way gordon" and "follow me"............but he doesn't go anywhere!!!!!!!!!!???????????
any advice?

Restart the chapter or level (if you knew the exact name) Or try noclipping around him, or ai_disable on then off, or throw a grenade at him to see if he runs for cover (unlikely) If you restart it, it will most definately fix it (assuming you have a legal version of the game)

He is supposed to go to a computer and open the door to the roof and he stays there to hold the fort while you go up.

I've heard thats a common bug for those who don't have a legal version

Nah happened to me too
I rescued Barney from the snipers so i go up to him and the fool walks to the edge of the roof and invites me to jump to my death
