Gordon's never going to get that beer; not in Aftermath at least. Maybe at the end of Half-Life (but I wouldn't bet on it).

I meant you, as Gordon, never saw him throughout the game (except in the first part when your on the train)

Ha, that's exactly why G-Man says "We'll see about that" in a aggressive way! Freeman says his first words in saying "I'ma go get that beer from Barney, which he's owed me for so long!". That's most likely how the game will start, obviously.

Hmm.. I think this is inacurate, but I'll just throw it out there.

When you install Blue Shift, during the installer in the background you can see a picture; its that room where the security gaurd tells gordon "Hey mr. Freeman, I had a whole bunch of emails for you but the server collapsed.." In Half-Life 1. remember, he's sitting behind a desk at a computer.. Well that same picture is in the background of the BS installer. I have no hard evidence to back my theory up (besides that picture in the installer) but this leads you to believe that that security gaurd was, infact, Barney.. Maybe after he had that chat with Gordon he had to get on the tram and take the ride down to Sector C, where BS opens up.

I dunno, this is all just speculation.. thats what I first thought when I played BS, but it's probably wrong.

It would be a funny joke if at the very end Gordon gives you that beer.

In Half Life 2, Barney most likely set up the whole "Metrocops knocking on door" thing to avoid giving Gordon Barney's special beer he hides from the Metrocop inspector.

Nope, Barney got to work several minutes before Gordon reached that desk.

Barney sees Gordon in HL1, but only had a chance to talk to him much earlier.
