BASTARDS PLAYING THE ALPHA (no spoilers)

This is just an angry public service announcement: be careful when you look for half-life 2 stuff on the internet... I accidentally saw some screenshots from the "alpha" version (i thought they were new screens or something) and I learned just from a few images about a LOT of the advanced plot stuff.

So don't look at them EVER. Only go to sites like this or the hl2c or gamespy or whatever, because you might see something like I did and have half the story exposed to you.

The ONLY way to ruin "huge plot elements" from the stolen build would be to listen to the wav files

You're better off just looking around our forums for links to new media - we simply don't tolerate screens from the leak, so you can be sure it's safe to browse. At least just browse trusted sites and large companies - Gamespy, IGN etc.

How can you tell from the screenshots of the plot? Also I've been told that you can't make out the story-line from the beta.

Not only what Shuzer and Harryz said, but Valve has reworked a lot of the game ever since it was stolen, and I'm pretty sure they altered the plot a bit.

Unlike the D3 alpha - i'm really glad i did'nt succumb to the temptation of playing the HL2 leak....D3 did'nt really spoil anything, since it was all tech, the HL2 leak on the other hand included story spoilers.

Yes there are story spoilers in the beta, you just don't have a clue to look where. There is only 1 'spoiler' if you want to call it that can be found in some pictures.

Oh yes, there is plot to be seen from the screenshots. If any of you are so interested in finding out about what happens then IM me, cylleruion2012. I won't post it here, obviously. And I suggest you don't since it's a major spoiler.

a lot of people actually don't. when you have a good job and buy your own games, while using good freeware apps instead of getting name brand everything, its not really a big deal to stay on the good side of the law

Not to sound like I'm asslicking, but that's why I come here for news. Valve writes us, responds to our emails, and you guys respect them. You guys watch for spoilers, and you're not dicks.

Screw IGN or gamespy. I hear things here that they don't post for weeks. Plus, their sites are designed by flash-happy monkeys who are so worried about being laid off they shovel loads and loads of sugar graphics into their pages. Pretty easy to find one's way around here.

it wasn't. but since none of the alpha players have mentioned anything resembling what I saw, I'm wondering what it was... it was certainly a HL2 screen, I guess it could have been doctored, but it looked pretty real to me.

I'm fairly positive it was a real screeen. it was not a combine.

if you stopped trying to get even more info about hl2 (like i did) since the game suposedly is about to go out, this wouldn't have happened....

I CAN'T stop looking for HL2 stuff... I'm obsessed.

Ive seen pretty much everything in that leak, the only thing I would consider a spoiler in a screenshot would be an unfinished enemy type or weapon or somthing along those lines, the maps wernt really in a state where a single shot could spoil much for you, seriously the only real spoilers were audio, which i avoided in my time with it.

Everybody who downloaded the alpha is a bastard because they along with the main hacker caused the year delay.
