No, they count as suicides for whomever they land on.
:O Haha that is pretty awesome. So you get the laugh and in turn it hurts their score.

I've been playing commander all day, dropping buggys for many people.

They are really useful for many reasons. Stranded people, or spawning somewhere without any vehicles, people do request them. Dropping them on players waiting on the boat for example (for a heli or plane is hilarious).

Another cheeky tactic is dropping them on top of a plane or heli, they float down quite fast so you can wait for them to spawn, they will usually sit on top of the vehicle, slip off and fall upside down and explode - also blowing up the plane of heli heh. Or put a buggy on the runway when i plane takes off...ha!

You can spawn a buggy every 1:30'ish, and you cannot spawn anymore after there are two in play. When one blows up you can spawn another. It's a fantastic extra commander skill. Good patch overall, i don't like the squad anti-spawning thing, yet to try co-op, but we'll see soon.

is it video or ping lag
If it's the former, defrag fully

If it's ping related manually update punkbuster, type pb_sleep 500 followed by pb_writecfg in the console, rename the .exe and stop the wirelesszeroconfig in services.msc
that might help and they are all reversable if not
worth a try
also run a tracert just to see that it isnt a problem with your connection
It's ping lag; I've already tried everything you listed, and some other things (I even went as far as setting up a DMZ on my router). Appearently it tends to affect certain users with wireless internet, meaning it affects thousands of players and is completely EA's fault. My dad and I both share the same connection, only his computer is connected to our modem via wire. BF2 works flawlessly on his machine, while I get horrible lag spikes on mine. All other internet games work fine.

I can't get a wired connection down to my computer, but I do plan on temporarily moving my comp upstairs to see if BF2 still lags on my comp with a wired connection. If anyone is interested, I'll post the results.

I actually had a very similar problem with the same setup. My wireless router would crap out anywhere from 5-15 minutes of gameplay and I would get disconnected completely. What solved it for me was replacing the firmware for the router, I'm pretty sure I replaced it with the same version and now I get disconnected once in a blue moon. Best bet would be to head over to your wireless router's company and get the latest firmware off their website (at the very least it'll be current with yours). However, if you have some settings you have made I'd advise you make a backup of it (my router had this feature, pretty sure it's common for all). Otherwise you'll have to re-do them all again (I made this mistake... doh!).

Anyway, best of luck! :)

the refresh button is totally messd up, If I click refresh in my favorite section, all my favorites servers disappear, I need to restart BF2 in order to see them again

The whole server browser is f00ked.

i have the same problem gorgon

and im really annoyed by the constant server crashing. i get through maybe two maps, dalian plant and then dragon valley

then the server crashes and its back to dalian again....

ive had enough of playing dalian plant . WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO FIX THIS???

until they do im no longer playing bf2, its just boring playing the same maps over and over again because the servers keep crashing.

apart from the constant server crashing and the lame server browser problems the ideas in the new patch (vehicle drops and heli falling out of sky) are good.

i still cant be arsed playing the same maps over and over though!

You have ridiculously bad luck if that's really the case. In my 140 hours of BF2 I've had one server crash on me, and not in 1.3. I've been playing my usual 24/7 Sharqi/Karkand servers just as much as usual without a single crash.

how many people can connect to the severs you play on?

and i know im not the only one experiencing repeated sever crashing, nearly everyone online playing atm seems to be complaining about it, but only after the 1.3 patch

Mostly 32, but I play a 50 person occasionally.

Yeah, because the people who aren't crashing aren't saying anything, they're playing. Sounds like it's something with the servers you play on, not with the game. Maybe the patch made something not work, but like I said, I've yet to see a server crash in 1.3, and I've been on vacation, so trust me I've been playing plenty lol: http://www.xfire.com/profile/dreadlord1337

But I don't see everyone complaining anyways. I play with Evo and all the other =256= guys constantly and they never have any problems either. I haven't heard SixThree or Glirk or any of the other guys I play with complain about this either, and SixThree seldom leaves his beloved Wake 24/7 server.

Good luck in getting it fixed. Hopefully it's something simple your servers can do.

Your best bet would be to play with us HL2.netters (use XFire), I don't remember having any server crashes since the 1.3 patch either.

Its alright. Played a game today on Node, good squad, and no lag.

BF2 is a great game when theres no lag or connection errors.

Forgot my BF2 CD at home and I finally can play the game online. SADface.
