Left when the "leak" happened and lost track of HL2. I just read this on Yahoo about one of the hackers:

"Valve even convinced one of them, a German resident, to fly to the States under the pretence of a job interview!),"

Is there a lin to read about the "complete" outcome of everything to this day?

As far as i picked up there's 2 stories;

1) they got there, and got arrested.
2) they were arrested when beginning to travel there. (i think this one's true).

That's pretty much all there is to know, other than counter-hackers (nice hackers if there is a thing) helped track them down What a nice bunch of ppl

Ok at first VALVe planned to get one of the hackers to visit them for an interview, but the German authorities interveined and arrested them before they could leave Germany. They didn't get tracked down by 'counter-hackers', a little bit later after the leak a virus got spread around the world. The authorities tracked it and it ended up that the same idiot created the virus and started the whole Half-Life 2 leak.

-Valve source leaked.
-Valve sends army of monkey para-legals to find leakers
-Leakers were found but got off on a technicality
-Leakers were raped by monkey para-legals in an orgy of bloody ape satisfaction
-Gabe gets on Atkins Diet
-Gabe annouces that all powerups will be Atkins apporived in the next build
-finding sugar substitues for power HEV suit cells creats another game delay
-Gooseman crawls out of his cave to give Gabe the alpha build of CS Source
-Cliff does interview about CS Source at gunpoint for german magazine
-Gabe gives up on Atkins diet and cycles back all HL2 builds to remove Atkins content.
-CS Source information is shown at E3
-Gooseman dies because Gabe forgot to leave food for him before they left to E3
-Gabe outsources Gooseman's job to India
-Indian programers finish CS Beta
-HL2 developers wake up from hybernation and finish HL2
-Tires to make up for the crappy CS:CZ game by letting players praticipate in the CS Source Beta.
-Fans didn't forgive him, and decided to steal the CS Source Beta
-Gabe in a fit of anger kills Cliff... no one notices...
-Fanboys Bitch & Moan
