I just got my new issue and this is the review:

Crazy Frog Racer

Very much more than just 'annoying'

The tracks that lock the frog and his seven friends onto tangled trajectories are too confined. All you end up doing is scraping from one side to the other as your barely controllable racer ping-pongs between barriers. They've half- heartedly tried to fix this flaw by stopping barriers having any impact on speed- you don't even need to touch the steering for vast swathes of the races. You can just bounce from side-to-side. I came third doing that in one race.

and later on it goes to say

It worried me that even one sale of this pap will encourage more crazy frog games. Some mis-guided granny could grab one for her little cherub, and that sale could have gone to Trackmania: Sunrise.

Score: 5%
As worthless and pathetic as you'd expect a crazy frog cash-in to be.

If anyone here supports crazy frog in anyway, I will make it my life's work to kill you. Thank you for your time. kthxbi.

omg crazy frog I love crazy frog! :rolling:

I love PCGUK, but their shit game reviews from a couple of years ago were so much better - often had me in stiches. John Walker and Keiron Gillen could absolutely rip a game to shreds in the funniest way.

Yeah, I stopped buying PCG, I just feel now that the excellent line-up (Matt Piece, Gillen, Atherton, Walker, Rossignol, Stone et al) just cannot be beaten, and I think I lost interest after I realised that was the case. If those guys released a ****ing magazine called "Lumberjack Monthly" I'd still buy it, since they were all fantastic writers in their own ways. When Piece moved up, Gillen left etc. I think it just began to sink into the mediocrity that was also present in the other mags of the time.

God, I feel sad now.

Was there a demo? :O

Not sure. But the games magazine were not given a copy to review by, they had to buy it instead  . I think they were freaked that they may rip the game to shreds

Yeah, we can still lovingly remember the golden times though. Yesterday. With Kobolds.

I still love PCGUK, think it has gotten better after the release of the new style.

The articles they are now having on the online community are brilliant. This months....Sex-swap love in Wow!

I'm so glad I haven't seen anything about Crazy Frog anywhere in my lifetime.

Aaah, for the halcyon days.
But you forgot Steve Williams. He was cool also.
It's not so bad now, but Mark Donald's not a patch on Matt "Iron Man stubble" Pierce. In fact, he's a nob.

Who's for a packet of Ste Currans?

MONSTROOOOOOOOOOOO!

Ah, for the old days. I think it's true that the best times were under Matt Peirce (who was always my favourite writer anyway, because of the stubble) with that crew - although James Ashton was pretty good as well. What I always used to love about PC Gamer more than any other magazine is it had this kind of sense of knowing all the writers - like every time you picked the magazine up you entered their secret crazy office life. It had personality.

Heh, James Ashton used to be editor of an N64 magazine I used to buy many moons ago.

Where were we? Ah yes, Crazy Frog. Yet another bile inducing fad that got it's claws into our nations youth to poison charts, mobile phones and now video games. Any affiliates of the Crazy Frog and it's creators should be poked in the eye on sight.

Same happened here with a Dutch gaming magazine ;(
Good times.

On-topic : Don't you just feel like slitting your wrists (down the road) and throat when just seeing anything related to Crazy Frog? Maybe we should conduct a research that researches the reaction of people to 72-hour Crazy Frog (Locked in a cubic room that has Crazy Frog on every side, with the motor sound looping for 72 hours).

Yeah, there was a fantastic little group that I just couldn't name all of them in... although there was that woman who went off to present radio that I forgot the name of, which is a bugger. I always enjoyed her reviews, but her name just escapes me.

Kate Little. :p

At least John Walker's still around, but now he's been slapped on the wrists for making his budget reviews completely hilarious and random.
Oh Deer Avenger how I miss you.

Dammit people, now you made me remember the team's vendetta against Cryo Games, that awful developer/publisher. Reviews for their crappy games were always bloody hilarious, and pretty much never exceeded 20%.

Didn't they give some space MMO game N/A% because they maintained that it wasn't actually a finished game and thus they couldn't review it?

It was funny how when Cryo finally went down, John Walker got really sentimental about it.

I remember Ste Curran (75% certain) gave Big Brother 2: The Game (or another BB "game") a N/A% because he maintained it was not a game, but a collection of crap or something along those lines. Classic.

For some reason I remember the quote, pertaining to some sort of made-up helmet thing: "If children fear you, do not cry - you are a god". Man, those were the days.

I remember the days when PCG would distribute their magazine with demo FLOPPY DISKS.

Hell yeah.

I only got PCG after the re-desighn, sounds like I missed a lot ;(
