Best setting for ati x550?

Hey well my problem is taht when i open half life 2 after awhile i will get an error and it will shut down. I want to know the ebst settigns for my ati X550 and hlaf life 2 so that it will run smoothly, i remebr when i had a ati9800 it went smooth but with this new card it'll run then ERROR, also i hav 3.2ghx and a 1GB RAm my hardware can handle it. My old ocmpute rhandled it better though on 2.4 and 512 with ATI 9600 ....
So i need proper settigns so then it caa run smoothly, plz help me

Yes, tell us what does the error exactly say.
The X550 should run the game pretty smoothly, if I recall correctly, it's performance should be something between R9600 and 9800.

Its just a regular windows problem, i'll open it and then play for a few seconds then black screen, windows error report sayin to send an error report.
I posted 2 threads by accident...
I donno why even if i run that screen test in half life 2 it'll later jsut freeze and then error report.
I have the latest driver for my card. Is there any way i could chekc what the problem is or at least fix it?
