I'm going to use this thread as a sounding board for a story I idea I've had.

I got this idea after watching the new Batman trailer and realizing something. In reality how easy would it be for the police or really anybody to figure most superhero's identities? I mean how many people are there who have the means and the motive to be Batman? (All Superman does is wear glasses and change his hair..... lame.)

Anyways back to the point of all of this. I tried to think up what it would be like to actually be a vigilante in the real world and what kind of person could have the motive and ability to pull it off and the reprecussions of their actions.

So from that idea I formed an idea of writing a story based around a FBI agent who is assigned to track down one such vigilante who is not going to be a guy running around in tights but a very dark and enigmatic character (Who is going to be morally gray or else why would the FBI be after him.)

So thoughts? suggestions? criticisms?(I already know I'm going to get lots of the last one :P)

It's has a name already: Watchmen

Just because it deals with reality doesn't mean it's an exact copy.

And besides Watchmen was a comic book, not prose.

Here's something to get you in the mood,

Great men make no compromises,
They are not swayed by cold realities nor are they embittered by the tragedy of life,
Great men live according to the impossible standard,
They are men of steel and iron, who will shatter before they bend.
We live beneath their shadow and are shaped by their will,
And when all is said and done, the world looks on in wonder.

Cause even though you've seen Scanners a million times you still can't make my brain explode.

You've been here longer than I, why havn't you done that to me?

Hurry up and write, damnit.
