Bizzare propblem in Half Life 2

Friends, I am facing a bizzare problem in half life 2. In the chapter Follow Freeman, I ve to kill to snipers and then Barney is supposed to open the door. I killed the snipers with the alt fire of the machine gun instead of grenades. But barney keeps shouting "grenades" and does nothing. is that a bug or what? I do not want to get back to my last auto save which is wayback. Any idea? i am going crazy.

If you clip through the gate to the loadscreen hallway, he'll probably follow you.

Are you sure you got all of them? If so then maybe you should try doing it the intended way with regular grenades.
