Black and white effect - How?

In HL2 you see a black and white effect when you first meet gman , when you use izzys teleporter and the end of the game.

I want this black / white nice gray thing affect a corridor in my map .. Anyone know how to? Raven0 ?
 
The script_intro entity does it. I think you're given the VMF of the map that uses those effects. I believe it's done with a SetBlendMode 3 input.
 
Yeah I was looking thru all those maps in source SDK thingy but how much i looked and how much i tryed to make something out of that gigantic pile of relays i didnt understand how anything of that could do a black / white thingy.. Thanks i'll try it!

I'm going through it from top to bottom redoing documentations and ensuring that every entity has the properties it needs. ;)
 
Erhm ... Another question, How do i make it so only !activator ? sees it? I just want a corridor and when player 1 goes thru the trigger it will flash that grayich thingych but then everyone else will see it :( Any idea how to do that?
 
Naturally, script_intro was never intended to be used in multiplayer games. However, almost every entity I know of will either pull its activator or pull the first player to join the server; very few will create an effect for all players. In the case of script_intro, I don't see a way for it to work only for the activator if it's being contrary.
