This problem not only prevents you from taking screens, but also causes autosaves (which save temp screenshots) to take about a minute to finish. It's an apparently uncommon problem, but here's how to fix it if anyone has it. :smoking:
From Steam (after waiting 3 weeks):
"Hello,
Please first follow the six steps listed below to troubleshoot your issue.
1. Update all graphics card/motherboard drivers
2. Download and install the most up to date version of DirectX
3. Download the newest drivers for your sound card
4. Update windows
5. If none of the above works, disable the soundcard via device manager and try running the game.
6. Run a full spyware and virus scan of your system.
After each step be sure to reboot the machine and try running the game."
