just thought i'd mention that a few days before the RC announcement, it was said in an interview with Hodgson (?) that the HL2 book (not the guide but the 'making of...') would come out around 2 weeks before the game.....well, we're less than 2 wks away from 30/9 and still no sign...hmmm

however, vampire bloodlines has been touted by several sources to be released this October (and only after HL2) so it can't be that long...

Well that would require the game to go gold first, since it takes about two weeks to copy and ship hundreds of thousands of copies. Good info though, maybe I should pick it up.

Bloodlines is suppose to be released after HL2 correct ?

Yes they are under contract with valve saying they have to wait.

30/9 isn't an official date... there just isn't one!!

and yes, vampire: bloodlines has to come out after HL2 due to contracts and the Source Engine

yeah, its part of the deal from using valves source engine....i'm actually quite looking forward to it as well....better say goodbye to October...

i know 30/9 isn't official...it just feels right to a lot of people...and maybe this is evidence for the contrary...here's hoping not....

wait wait, why are you touting this "vampire bloodlines cant come out before hl2 because of contract" stuff? have you read the contract? has valve commented on their contracts with other developers?

i thought not.

I would think it's just common sense mainly. Valve is smarter than to let another game show the world source engine's highlights before their game can, so I'm fairly sure they made sure they have to wait.

... We know it for a fact, fool. They've finished the game quite a while back, they're just eliminating bugs and polishing stuff (Which might not be bad in the end!) for the game.

I know that it's not the behind the game book but Amazon.com has October 12, 2004 listed as the day the Strategy guide comes out.

Is Vampire Bloodlines going to be installed under Steam?

Just wondering, as it is a Source game...

Probably not because it's not a game made by Valve.

Not according to Pulse. They finished the game a long time ago, and are just waiting for HL2 to be released. I personally think that sucks ass, but hey, what can yah do?
