Borderlands 2 Requires Campaign Of Carnage?

So I recently bought the add - on pack for Borderlands 2 and have been playing it a lot lately, but for some some reason in the campaign there is a main mission "Fly boy" that I'm stuck on I shot down his cargo planes but then when I try to pick up the mission item they drop it says "Requires Campaign Of Carnage" and it won't let me pick it up so I'm assuming that it wants me to beat the campaign before I pick it up but how can I do that if it won't let me progress wtf kind of stupid logic is that??? Someone please help!

I've not bought any of the DLC yet (hoping the Season Pass comes into a sale later this year), but I do know that there have been a couple of big updates to BL2 lately. Maybe one of these have screwed over the DLC. Go onto the 2K support forums and see if anyone else has the problem.
