this site has the right idea:

http://bostonmarathonconspiracy.com/

because you know it'll happen, which it already has. the clown prince of conspiracy stupid:

Alex Jones, who has become the country’s preeminent conspiracy theorist, wasted no time. As with 9/11, Sandy Hook and other national tragedies, he sees the Boston explosions as a “false flag” attack committed by the government. The objective this time: Expanding the Transportation Security Administration’s reach to sporting events

stfu you idiot

http://www.salon.com/2013/04/15/alex_jones_labels_boston_explosion_a_false_flag/

and there's plenty more where that came from:

I really do wonder what kind of warped reality these people live in. The "banking elite" (whatever the **** that means), much less those monkeys down at the federal government, are nowhere near competent enough to have successfully executed this many false flag events without someone catching on. It would require an organization effectively 100% free of **** ups with a literal window into the future to actually manage these insanely (inanely?) complex conspiracies.

Does this story really need two threads?

it makes me want to move to canada.

ffs we are not the goddam holiday inn. you dont get to come here every time something happens in your neck of the woods. you wouldnt like it here anyways; it's a gun free socialist utopia full of married gays and atheists (also gay atheists and gay atheist socialists)

btw Tim Horton our Commander in Chief of the military has standing orders to machine gun any american who tries to climb over the boards. stay the **** out eh!

So this. It's insane to me that people spend so much time searching for some insane conspiracy to wail about the government for when there's so much ****ed up shit that is openly discussed in Congress or public and well documented. Also, the worst stuff comes about from the sheer incompetence that makes these conspiracies impossible.

Sorry, but a canadian with a gun isn't a terribly frightening proposition to Americans.

Thats what they want you to think. The **** ups are planned so when they pull something off nobody thinks it could have been them.

and yet we burned the white house down.

I genuinely enjoy listening to Alex Jones and his stuff, it's better entertainment than many of the films & games people tell me I HAVE to watch / play. He cites hundreds of names, dates and times when things happened over centuries of time, then finds stories on things from obscure local media and joins dots which melt my brain. The blended result is something unrecognisable and fascinating as the best sci-fi stories told. I find it addictive to listen to, I mean J K Rowling is an underachiever compared to Jones.

The problem is that when I listen to it after a while I start to believe it. That shit is toxic to my mind. It's why I stay the **** away from survivalist websites.

Is this a joke about legal weed or something? I feel like it is.

9/11 was an inside job. We never went to the moon. etc.

'Merica's a big place. There's plenty of room for tin foil hat wearers to thrive. Always gonna be someone who claims it's a "false flag" operation. Thankfully, I don't have to put up with these people day-to-day in the land of Britain. They're few and far between and they definitely don't get much airtime (if at all) in the media.

They don't get any here, either. Even FOX news rarely puts Alex Jones on the air.

I missed the old one. Nice work though, haxx0rz. Unless it was always sarcasm?

I don't know whether or not the Boston Marathon Bombings were set up, not all conspiracy theories are created equal. Also I'd like to point out that Alex Jones isn't credible, he's controlled opposition.
This is the same government that was found guilty in a court of law for assassinating MLK; that's a proven fact anyone can look up. Yet the majority of people don't know about it, simply because of how the media twists information. Same with Project MKUltra.

To create a lie you don't have to control the media, you simply have to flood it with information to create conflict of credibility.

I think we need not look nearly so far as so-called "false flag events" to find disturbing actions by our government at home or abroad.

Because that's a rabbithole that ends up in becoming a survivalist drinking Alex Jones' koolaid by the gallon, which I did for a few years as a teenager before growing out of it. A lot of grown-ass men do that for their entire adult life. The information sources that talk about false flag events are the same ones advocating for the violent overthrow of the US government, the impending economic collapse, and buying your beans, bullets and band-aids while you can. They're a bunch of nutters who cloak their batshit crazy theories in a veil of poorly substantiated 'facts.' Alex Jones and his ilk make the "false flag" claim that about everything under the sun, which makes them even less reliable than they already are for their maniacal obsession with Freemasons, Bilderberg, New World Order and Illuminati.

I spent a number of years reading this kind of stuff almost religiously, before realizing that's exactly what this crap is: a religion of paranoia. Now, if some court evidence surfaces I'll eat that shit up. As it stands, however, I find it far more likely a couple of disenfranchised Chechens made some crappy black powder bombs than I do the CIA putting together a false flag. If these false flags were nearly as common as claimed, then something would have shown up in the Bradley Manning cables or any number of other MASSIVE data leaks as of late. As it stands, false flag claims are almost entirely unfalsifiable, and therefore are no more true than Russell's Teapot.

This is a complete strawman. Not all conspiracies are created equal, and not everyone who questions the motives of their country are part of the Alex Jones cult.

The fact that there are a number of proven instances in which the American government conspired against its people in incredibly insidious ways which include assassination, rape, indoctrination, and the complete manipulation information in media should make you question everything you hear.

Question, yes I do that constantly. Usually I do it for things like CISPA or Fast and Furious, where there's actual evidence something insidious is afoot. Until a source more substantive than infowars.tv puts up an indictment, I won't be paying much attention. Someone earlier pointed out that Alex Jones is just noise, and that's my problem. Listening to conspiracy nuts generates so much meaningless information that it becomes impossible to really evaluate whether there's a real conspiracy, as in Fast and Furious, or an imagined one, as in the World Trade Center attack. There's a big difference between actual evidence like hundreds of sales records and serial numbers showing up, and a flimsily-constructed 'documentary' like Loose Change which correlates completely indefensible 'facts' into some grand conspiracy without one iota of hard data or real reference information.

The problem is presuming that gathering data from the internet provides any meaningful insight whatsoever. It doesn't. It can start you going the right direction, but the reason why investigative journalism is so important is it involves actually doing footwork and fact-checking. When something shows up in a newspaper or another source with a good reputation, you can rely on it because their reputation is at stake it it's false. Alex Jones, James Rawles, and the whole host of false flag conspiracists/survivalists are simply looking for excuses to espouse their ideas, NOT hard information. It takes about 20 minutes for major factual errors to start piling up in the accounts from infowars or Loose Change into an irreversible trainwreck of bullshit.

Just because Alex Jones and the like are correct some of the time does not mean that they are correct reliably, it merely means they have managed to be correct by statistical happenstance. The vast majority of what they talk about is a load of paranoid delusions which are exposed with even the most minimal effort at fact-checking.

I'm amazed at how the Boston people have rallied together so well after such a shocking day.

I have to admit though, I was curious as to why the hell they would target a marathon. Why not send a political message? Then it occured; how can you get maximum casualties? A marathon, in the crowd of cheering people.

And then, what, the next day, that plant explodes in Texas.

The second I saw that in the news I thought the 2 were linked, and that maybe this was the start of a chain of attacks against America.

Then it turned out the 2 bombers were just...nut-jobs basically.
