hey guys, I've made a window, it'll break like in 1.6 or CZ, but it won't break like the ones in office. Can anyone tell me how?

I can't remember which it is...func_breakable or func_breakable_surf....It's obviously not the one you're using so you should know which one!

It has to be cover on all sides except one with the 'nodraw' texture.

Make a brush covered in nodraw, select the side you want to have the glass on it, get a glass texture and apply it, tie it to func_breakable_surf

didn't work... what do you mean by make a brush in nodraw...

use the 'tools\nodraw' texture...it has to cover all of the brush except one side

it does something weird... like it makes blocks or something...help?

... I'm stuck...

can you just like tell me what to do from the beggining? like create object xl xh xw, apply x texture to left/right bla bla

:) Please

thanks for the patience anyways

Did the last window break? If it did you did everything right...but you need to use a different texture to the window

tried a different texture. didn't work... I think I messed up somewhere along the way or something... :-|

Here's a little tutorial for you, might set you straight

1)Draw the brush that you want to be a window, its easier to already have selected tools/toolsnodraw
2)If you didn't do it in step 1, cover all the sides of your brush with tools/toolsnodraw
3)Select the side that you want to have the glass, and then apply your glass texture. glass/glasswindowbreak070a is commonly used I think. Office uses glass/offwndwb and prodigy uses glass/prodwndwa
4)Select your brush and hit Ctrl+T and select func_breakable_surf from the dropdown box

There you go

Yeah, as far as I know, glasswindowbreak070a or what have you is the only texture that'll work properly with func_breakable_surf.

Fit the texture to the window... cuz now it seems to be tiled

In that picture the glass is supposed to look like that.
