Breen Returns?

I think there was a cut bit of dialogue (that's still in the EP1 subtitle files) about Eli and Mossman escaping in Breen's private escape pods (How clich?!). But since that's cut, it's not definite, so maybe the Vortigaunts saved them too.

So the escape pods are the same as those that the Advisors use? Or something more suited for humans?

Episode One starts in the early morning, just after sunrise, while Half-life 2 ends at sunset, or soon after. Alyx does mention looking for Gordon for hours, so Dog found her much earlier.

There was one of those weird white door things though. What were those things, anyway?

I know what you mean, those things probably just represent very bright light, think HDR.

Yeah but there is only one escape pod for Breen. OMG ELI AND JUDITH MAKE OUT IN THE POD! :upstare:

I always thought the real idea behind the Pod chamber was less the emphasis on Breen's host body speech but to remind the player of the Advisor. Oh yeah, there's Breen...wait, what was it he was talking to again? What was that thing? Bam - the Advisor appears in the flesh.

How can you just brush aside speak of a host body? There is plenty he could have said without really saying anything at all.

The host body speech and the incident in Episode One where the Breen monologue is heard immediately before the adviser pod unveiling are pretty strong indications of Breen's fate.

hmm, i never noticed that before. thats really interesting. we might just see a vid of breen talking to us in his advisor form in ep2..

Isn't the pod's filename "advisor_breen"

Well, that's because it's in the same sequence.

Yes and as I said I feel that's probably being looked at wrong.

Some of the entities for the scene also mention the gravity gun, IIRC, despite the fact that nothing happens to the GG at this point. You see, originally the advisor super-charged the gravity gun when it appeared (unintentionally, I assume) so the advisor possible once had something to do with Breen, but that idea was cut.

Or maybe it's AI_Advisor_Breen because it was the advisor who advised Breen.

Whilst I would never put it past them, it would be oh so nice if Valve were to not put such an obvious plot spoiler in an entity title.

Breen in Relation 2 G-Man

McCoy again,

there is one possibility that i don't think any1 has overlooked. maybe teh g-man procured breen at the last moment for.....interrogation (u no, good cop, bad cop?). Plus, we know that Breen is aware of the G-Man and the council that controls him....

with shizzle,

McCoy

There's a council controlling the G-man?

I think McCoy means the purple vortigaunts that are confronting the Gman at the beginning of episode 1 maybe he thinks that the purple vortigaunts are a type of council that controls the Gman.

What about Gman's "employers"? Don't they control him as well, in some way?

Well we're not entirely sure that the Gman even has any employers maybe he's just making it up and he's really the leader of whatever third party organization he's in.
Upon looking at the recent Gman pic he could be the owner of Aperture Science or even his employers could very well be the vortigaunts although I highly doubt it.
Back on topic: If Breen does return I wonder how he survived the explosion how will he explain it to us?

my bad

heyTomu, i meant the employers lol.

srry,

McCOy
