This might be Pointless but this has been on my mind.

1. Do bugs slow down your FPS frames per second?
2. What exactly are they?
It seems every css update when they repair bugs it speeds up my fps ,things get smoother. Anyone else see performance increases after updates

After i finish this thread im going to bed . bye

Well bugs is a all encompassing term, one that pretty much encompasses all that make a game bad, just like disease is a general term for human being in bad condition.

There are show-stopper bugs, which cause the game to crash (most annoying).

There are performance bugs, which cause the game to be slower than it should be (that's why optimization is key).

And there are those small and yet oh so annoying non-fatal bugs, like textures being absent, A.I. bugs, the list is countless.

Thanks alot that was fast your a good guy :D

1. Depends on the bug.
2. Bugs are certain errors in the code or an animation which cause some sort of problem in the game. A bug could crash the game or it can simply make things not look right.

a bug is anything that doesn't look right ingame
for example when they are testing they might find that at a certain angle the npcs face goes all crazy cause the engine can't compute
or the skins textures are all over the place..
or the npc floats... ex: dog in the flanger videos.

A bug is an error in the code (edit: but not limited to) which makes something undesired happen. Sometimes it's something that you notice (visual errors or controls not working etc.), other times it's not so noticable (performance decreasing bugs)untill you get rid of it ;) When developing a program or game you can never avoid bugs totally, you can only try to squash as many of them before the release of the program. Serious developers (valve among others) will follow up their product and release patches to repair newly discovered bugs.

syntactical error or logical error in the cooooooooode

Smoother? How much smoother can you get with that rig?

Only if there's more than 64 Ant-Lions in your view. :D

I think the only bugs present will be the ant-lion......No wait

Probably multiplayer bugs only. The singleplayer of HL was pretty bug-free, as will HL2 singleplayer

Beta builds generally have gobs of error checking algorithms running in the background. That's where those pretty error messages come from when the game crashes. It's also why beta software tends to be more resource intensive than the final release (for instance, WarCraft III's beta had CPU requirements about 25% higher than the final release). As Valve fixes various bugs and removes error checking code, the game performance will improve.

...can be other things to...

Like stuff in maps are wrong, or scripts... etc...
