Building new PC, need help backing up HL2

What files do I need to save in order to still have my game saves etc? Thanks.

I think you can use Steam to back-up your entire installation of Half-Life 2 if you have a CD or DVD burner. I dunno if that keeps your savegames and stuff though. That would be easiest.

Otherwise, I dunno, look around in your Steam\Steamapps\half-life 2 folder for a savegame folder or something.

Alright, how do I go about doing this with Steam? Is there a place right there that says "Backup" or something? It's updating now and I can't check.

right-click on game and select "Backup Files..."

The easiest way (what i did) is to just copy the steam directory somewhere to back it up.

When you're ready just move it back and run steam.
