Well I still didn't get the mobo or the video card, but i was starting to assemble some things so i wouldn't have to do it later. I put the drives in and such.

The psu...i have no clue how to install it. i know its compatible, its the thermaltake silentpower psu, the same used on the xaser cases, cept i got the xaser case without a psu. just im not sure how to put it in. should the fan thats on the top(or bottom?) of the psu....should it be facing the ceiling of the case, or should it be facing down towards the floor of the case?

also, my sound card, the aud.2 zs came with some kinda control drive thingy i can put into a drive slot on my case. its got controls n shit. and a remote and a buncha plugs. i dont plan on using this, so do i need it for my sound card to work? (ive got z5300's with a remote, i dont need 2 remotes just for sound ill get confused as hell).

i think thats about it. my fx-53 s939's heat sink seems to already have a ceramique placed on it, does that mean i shouldnt apply a film of arctic ceramique?

thanks in advance! :)

No, you don't need it to work. Looks like you wasted $40 on something you will never use. The only difference between the Audigy ZS and the Audigy ZS Platinum is the remote and the breakout box.

Yes, you should take of the thermal paste that is on the stock heatsink. Go artic silvers website and find the instructions to do so (If you haven't yet, go to Artic Silvers website and find instruction on how to properly apply your thermal paste to your processor). I don't know about the FX-53 thermal paste, but the thermal junk that came with my XP 2800+ was made with parrafin wax. Cost effective for AMD but not cooling effective for users.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

thanks alot blah, just wondering, wont the fan facing towards the floor on the psu produce a ton of heat? or just blow hot air onto the psu, basically just heating it up?

Basically, the fan facing the floor of your PSU is really an intake fan for the PSU. It takes up the warm air in your case and expells it out the second fan in the rear. This has the added benefit of doubling as an exhaust fan (though not as effective as a normal case fan).

The ambient temperture of a computer will not be hot enough to affect a PSU in any way. The absolute hottest I have ever seen my ambient case temperture was 30C (84F). So you shouldn't worry at all.

To make sure there is no confusion, I drew a little picture in Microsoft Paint.

nice pic lol. and thanks a million blah uve been a great help.
