Can I install Deus Ex twice on my machine?

I am currently using a new Open GL renderer from here
http://cwdohnal.home.mindspring.com/utglr/

It gives me almost twice the frame rates and gives a visual boost as well.

However, with this, I can't take screenshots properly. Since I don't want to loose all my custom settings, I would like to install the game again into a different directory just for using screenshots.

When I click on the setup program, it onlys gives me the ability to reinstall. If I reinstall in a different directory, will the old one continue to exist? Anyone know?

I wouldn't have thought it would let you reinstall in a different directory (if it does, then problem solved).

Another way would be to make a copy of the old directory, then uninstall it. You'll then be able to reinstall it a 2nd time to a different place. Drag some shortcuts from the copy to the Start Menu and you'll be able to run both versions.

Hope that made sense :)

you might be able to find a setup.exe on the disk so oyu can install it to a different location.

although i doubt it will work as they will end up sharing the same registry settings, so things get a little ****ed up on multiple installs sometimes.

And Deus Ex is a bit f an old game isnt it? why do you need a new opengl renderer to get good framrates on it? what card are you using.

Yes, that did the trick. Thank you.

The performance isn't "bad", but with a few optimizations can be improved a lot regardless. You see, Deus Ex is primarily a Glide game, and Direct 3D and Open Gl support has been improved but is still less than stellar.

Another issue: Image quality. The Unreal in general has a few issues. Anisotropic-Filtering usually causes some bad results, and with this you can use some other new technologies as well (i.e. TruForm).
