Yeah, to actually throw stuff I think you need the manipulator but I'm pretty sure mods could find some way of using hands if they wanted to like dawdler said it wouldn't be a whole lot different, mabye just a little harder to animate.

i took the thread's title literally and thought "why would there be little piles of shit in the map?" i don't think you can pick up things, though it makes me wonder if, like you're trying to do something stealthy and throw a bottle as a distraction, the manipulator will make so much noise that you'd be found out quickly. or maybe i'm just too used to playing splinter cell

I was wondering the same thing, but I realized that this is one of those cases where the author simply couldn't find any word in his vocabulary to properly describe what he meant (such as "stuff", "objects", "things", etc) so he just through in a random swear word. It shows he's too l33t to care about things like proper English and clear communication. I wish I were as cool

hmm...

for one.. it's threw.. not "through"... and if "stuff, objects and things" are the best words you can think of to describe, then you are definately not one to be criticizing another person's grammar.... let alone using "words" like "l33t".... yes sir... you are just another prime example the english language at its finest..... i hope you can at least comprehend sarcasm..... not likely though (or is it thow?..)...

Yes, I did use the wrong version of threw. Ooops. Happens. However, you'll please note that I wasn't critisizing grammar at all - just vocabulary. There are quite a few other words that I could have put, but I figured I'd stick with the most obvious ones. Or would you like me to "prove" my vocabulary by using a thesarus?

The use of "l33t" was fairly clearly a sarcastic remark. Perhaps I should have put sarcasm notes in indicating it? Ah well. I'll just consider myself corrected and let my poor ego try to recover from the proper scolding I have recieved.

Yes I was afraid he meant "shit" as in excrement. But now that I understand that he means "shit" as in stuff I feel a lot more confortable discussing throwing "shit" around in Halflife2.

You see alby, "shit" could be used a weapon: if you see some "shit" lying on the floor you could grab the "shit" and toss it at some "shitty" guy. But there has to be a "shitty" weight limit to prevent you from picking up heavy "shit". And whenever you score a hit with "shit" the combines would yell "shit, I'm hit!". That would be the "shit"!

I don't think that it will be in the game HL2, but it is 100% modable.. (Like everything seems to be) with the source engine.
