Cant activate just wasted 50 bucks?

I bought steam for my old comp in the end of novemeber i installed it on it just to play it for a little since the comp wasn't that good

now i got my brand new comp and i installed hl2 and when i try to activate it, it says something like Steam account pending cannot complete transaction!!!!!!!!

this is bull i was NOT TOLD you couldn't have this game on another computer. this is pissing me off. im not trying to sound mean but i just wasted 50 bucks just because hl2 is stuck on my other comp?

IM USING THE SAME DAMN ACCOUNT just a different comp

please any help needed.

Get on your old comp and activate HL2 on that one (same account). Then you can at least know that you have HL2 tied to your account, and whenever your new computer acknowledges Steam, you can play it. It doesn't matter what computer you're on, the games are tied to your account.

of course you can have it on two computers, you can have it on as many as you want if you legally own it. You just can't connect to the net on more than one at any given time.

i blame valve for not telling the people it cant be on more than one comp even with the same account

Did you enter the cd key again? If so, that's the problem. Just log in to your Steam account after installing and it should download everything you need.

nothing downloads? and i already have the stuff installed on my other comp and this one

You CAN use it on as many computers as you want, like TDE said

Make sure you're logging out of Steam and closing it, give it some time and then open steam on your new PC. If you're still getting the error, take the time to contact the tech support on Steampowered.com before assuming it just won't work at all.

Before you get mad about not getting a fast response from SteamPowered.com tech support just remember it is Christmas.

Guess you didn't read my post where I said it works fine on two computers, you just can't run the same account from two or more machines ONLINE at the same time.. which makes pefect sense (cause you can only use one at a time anyway)

Did you try going to Steam,Settings,Login as a different user, Logout, Login on different Machine?

i thought just closing the steam app was the same as logging out

i guess i was wrong lol
