This is a sudden problem. I was playing, and got kicked out of a server. I tried to join another, and it said "Failed 4 connection attemepts." so I tried yet another, and got the same result. It'll sit for about 2 minutes, and this error pops up. It's not my firwall because I've changed nothing, I've verified the cache, that didn't work, I don't know what else to do... Please help me, hl2.net!

Try deleting this file - :\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\*username*\team fortress 2\tf\cfg

This is your config file, sometimes admins can change them when the ban you, making your game settings a little ****ed up.

Sh*t...

This is happening in all my games for some reason. I'm not sure what it is.

Don't worry about it, it's a tiny notepad file. When you restart Steam, it will redownload it for you (a default version) which isn't corrupt. Right click the file and go to properties and tick the 'read only' box to stop it happening again.

This may solve you problem...it may not.

It's happening in CSS, deathmatch, and zombie panic too... I'm starting to worry...

Also... I restarted steam, and for some reason it reinstalled team fortress...
