ok, i had to reinstall my windows OS, but now whenever i try to start steam, I get the message that i can't connect to the steam network. I typed my password in, and got the message that it could n't connect, but now i only get the message and no password box. I was able to play fine before the reinstall, and it worked fine with the latest patch. I checked out the steam folder, and all of the files (i THINK) are still there. What could be the problem?

Is your firewall blocking it?

I tried disabled the windows firewall and get the same message. My comp is connected through a router, but that was never a problem before

This happened to me too. I have HL2 on one of my hard drives but I had to format the other one with Windows XP on it. Then after that I assumed that none of the steam stuff was messed with but I kept getting that error.

To fix it you need to delete the "ClientRegistry.blob" file, just like it says here http://steampowered.custhelp.com/cg...HNvcnQ9JnBfcm93X2NudD0yNzcmcF9wYWdlPTE*&p_li=

DUDE, Thank you so much. I can connect to steam now (but cs has some weird graphics probs now, but im gonna see if new drivers help
