can't install

hey, i just got the game and i tried to instal it but when its on cd 1, half way an error pops up and says:

Error 1305. Error reading from files: C\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\base source shared materials.gfc. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
