CD No longer required?

Has anyone else noticed that the CD is no longer required for the retail version after the new patch? :bounce:

I have looked and could not find it in the forums so if this is an old topic my apologies in advance.

Don't know about the rest of you, but it certainly made playing HL2 more convenient for me, at least.

^Definately. Also cuts down on the number of people using CD cracks.

I thought that it was disabled in a patch weeks ago?

I think it was disabled in the one that fully opened the SDK.

Maybe so... but mine has just started ignoring my empty drive.
