"The Darkness inside my mind guides me, bends me to his will. Some call it the 'Cerebral Effect', an experiment gone horribly wrong, but I call it a blessing. I am never alone. Not like before, the cold floor of my cell was my only companion. True, I have taken the lives of people who would have lived if not for me. I survived and my The Darkness inside my mind sought revenge, something which he got in spades."

Sometimes insanity is the key.

After a week and a half of brainstorming, the Team of 'Cerebral Effect' is proud to announce its opening. In a nut shell it’s a Science Fiction mod, themed around the brutal justice of a man's second conscience. To go deeper would just be partial insanity itself. We are now hiring:

Modeler
Coder
Musician
Texture Artist
Concept Artist – Weapons, Buildings, NPCs etc. (Note: If you only specialize in one area we are still glad to have an artist working on one area alone.)

Other Roles which we will need in the future, still feel free to apply for such:
Sound Artist.
Play testers / Beta testers.
Voice Actors.

All applications may be emailed to: [email protected]
Or just send me a PM.
Upon application, further story details will be released.

I browsed through your site. Is it a single player or multiplayer or both? What is the gameplay like? Is it third person, first person, is it action themed or adventure game like?

To put it short, more info please.

At the moment we are only planing for a Single player element, but a multi player add-on might be in the works. We aim to make Cerebral action themed, quick paced firefights, but also to have a heavy layer of plot.

The site is being updated next week, with a large chunk of plot type content, but for the moment we've really only just started, so some things still lie undefined.

Another writer and myself are trying to get our first 'chapter' finished, so the rest of the team, have something to work on. Then we'll be getting the rest of the deeper stuff down to paper, for now it's only in our heads.

Coding for single-player mods is pretty easy, and a good learning experience for new coders. Opposing Force, for HL1, had very little changed, code-wise - its the mappers that carried it forward.
So, yeah, this would be a good learning experience for any new coders, as long as you're not asking for a completely different system of playing the game.

The only thing coding wise that we might implement is an one pistol one Primary weapon system, kinda like CS.
But that's it.
