Change the difficulty

Hi guys, how do you make half life 2 more difficult. I already heard something about editing the cfg files. Can someone tell me what I have to do excactly?

I don't know about modifying any files but if you download the Substance mod that does make the game very hard.

Think i've downloaded that mod already some time ago. And I didnt really liked that one. It was messy like hell.

I made this, it edits a few values and should make the game a bit harder.
