Citadel Help.. PLEEEASE

I just got the new gravity gun. and killed all the attacking troops. But now i'm stuck and i have no idea what to do it won't let me jump over a small barrior. and every hallway is blocked by forcefields i can't get past i tried shooting the computer terminals into some kind of reactor thinking it would powerdown the forcefields but it doesn't happen and the computers disapear in the reactor. i've looked at every square inch of the place and i have no clue on what to do to advance in the game.

can anyone please help me?
 
You've probably noticed that you can grab the energy balls from the generators...the electric blue shafts. ;)
 
ya need to pull those thing that are going up and down in the cores uot to power em down
 
Electric blue shafts??? I see nothing like that anywhere. I've litterally done Everything i can think of. I've pointed the manipulator Everywhere and nothing happens. There are no more computers or bodies left i've tossed them all into that reactor from a distance because it won't let me get past the barrier. which has a force fielded hallway right next to it.
 
I explained what part i'm in. Its right after you get in the citadel and ride inside the pod. the pod opens and you drop down. and all your weapons get sucked away and they vaporize. leaving the manipulator upgraded with combine energy. i'm stuck in that area. i've killed every combine soldier there. but every hallway is blocked with force fields and it won't let me jump at all. there is nothing to deactivate the forcefields. so i'm stuck.
 
I can't remember it clearly, but it should be one of two things:

1. Next to one of the forcefields is a lift, use it

2. Behind the forcefields, there are generators, the same ones that were used in that bank/museum, when you were with Barney. You can pull the glowing balls out using the gravity gun. They will shut down any forcefield you need to go through.
 
you might be talking about an area thats after the area i'm stuck in. because i see no lifts. i'll check the whole area over again.
 
Knives - I believe there is a generator (as in the bank/museum level) in the room somewhere with the generators. You just have to pull multiple energy balls out of it with the gravity gun and chuck them away (watch out they don't bounce into you though).

Most of them were behind the force field barriers themselves so you couldn't reach them.
 
I was stuck there too. I couldn't jump so i re-loaded the level and i could jump after that, then got over the small barrier. :D

i just visited here to see if there was any discussion about this as i am having the exact same problem. the thing that seems funny is the lack of any kind of jump ability. i come to a little barrier on my way to this big blue reactor thing which just screams 'jump me' - space bar - nothing.

can someone who has done this part explain how? or confirm that you are not able to jump in the citadel and it's not some kind of bug.

oh so not being able to jump isn't part of the game??? i thought it was because of the new manipulator . i'll reload it. maybe it will work. hold on. and i don't see any generators from the angles i can see from. hold on.
 
i restarted the game. i still can't jump; what am i doing wrong. what am i missing.

That is EXactly where i am. I'm starting to lose it.
 
Have you restarted complelty ? from the very start of the level ? Give it another try right from the start and see if it works
 
Ok i got it. i had no choice but to cheat. i had to use the no clip thing. thanks for all the help guys.
 
i seem to remember that, on the first go, i was standing hard up against the barrier when i first tried to jump. maybe this has something to do with the problem.

anyway, i reloaded a previous save and the problem went away. and now the game seems to have finished itself...
 
Ok, I'm having the same problem. Gabe... patch time already. :naughty:
 
Starting a save before you enter the... person transportation device line thingy... will let you jump again. I knew it was a bug.
