Just got Civ 4, and as it's my first Civ game, i'm still trying to wrap my head around some shit.

So, anybody up for a (hopefully peaceful) game?

I was a tremendous fan of the first 3. Civ 4 might have lasted about a week on my hard drive. I can imagine it's a little overwhelming right now, but I'm sure you'll pick it up quick. Check out civfanatics.com if you're interested. They have games of the month, multiplayer hookups, good articles, tips and a lot more.

C IV is pretty fun so far. I might be able to hook up for a game sometime, though I haven't actually tested whether I can use multiplayer from Halls yet.

I love Civ IV, but I can't find my disc. ;( Its gotta be around here somewhere, its just gotta be!

I am addicted to civ4, but I hate how all the AI can become buddy-buddy with each other (hell even tokanougwa SP? is friends with everyone...) so it can be difficult to alter the landscape without the risky of 3+ civs on your ass and everyone else closing boarders so you and your allies are cut off from eachother.

I also hate the greeks, backstabbing bastard >_>

Wierd, the A.I. are almost always at each others' throats in my games, and all trying to get me to cancel deals with their enemies and join wars. Of course I haven't progressed beyond Noble difficulty yet.

Sometimes the A.I. holding grudges it just silly. Like my neighbour Tokugawa started a war with me in the late industrial age (after being good friends for several thousand years). So I razed 2 of his cities and destroyed tons of infrastructure before offering him peace.
20 turns later he declares war again... glutton for punishment.

I Love Civ 4. Me n my cuzin lan it.

How's the combat? That was the worst part of Civ 3 for me. Towards the end, I hated having to deal with dozens of units every turn.

Hehe, it's gotta be the best part of the game.

Or at least the part I enjoy most :E

It's a ton of fun, running around the jungles, leveling up your early age man warrior unit(s), then upgrading them through the ages.

It's also allot of fun trying to stack just the right units, with the right unit upgrades, to make the perfect city razing squad, or the most elite guerrila fighting unit.

It's fun trying to decide which unit to send in first, and where to come in with the other ones, and when after.

Also lots of fun just sending wave after wave of elephants, even if it's just to take out one infantry unit. Lots of fun just fighting :)

But I love it when you've got your fully upgraded, maxed out infantry unit, who'm you've had through all the ages, leveling and upgrading from just a warrior unit in the BC times, and just watching it decimate everything in sight, with your newbie infantry units that you just made running for backup.

Dunno if i'm just overemphasizing it since it's my first civ game, but I love the combat system :)
