In the middle of the new E3 vid when G-Man speaks, you can see some machinary that looks like the "pods" from The Matrix in the background, you know the ones where people are born, so maybe the combine are cloning each other like in star-wars episode 2: The attack of the clones!!!!

if your talking about the 3 pods spinning around the beam ,if so thats from the orignal half-life in the beginning and its the machine that starts the resonance cascade.

yeh i wouldnt be suprised if you arnt far off. so the combine soldiers are products of the combine? and the combine is like a collective intelligent organic machine?, and the heart of it is the Citadel?? :O

:dozey: I'm guessing the Combine soldiers were once regular people, but they were taken and then transformed into these cyborg-like beings AKA Combine troops. I mean if you look closer, the Gunship that the Combine uses, it resembles a Pincher bug, you have to look real real good... it has those two pincher things at the end by the fan just like an actual pincher bug. The Gunship were definately taken from bugs or something, because THEY DO have bug eyes and other bug related stuff(unless the combine wanted to make a ship resembling living things). The Strider I dunno wtf that could have been out of... a daddy long legs?

Actually i think the alien gunship belongs to the xen race, remember the manta ray lookin ships from the first HL, i'm not saying its the same ship it just seems more sensible if it belonged to the xen.

I think this is how it is....

That room is filled with teleporters, I think most of the people of city 17 are all brought there by teleporting from different areas. Most of them can't remember how they got there and there are no kids at all. The combine are there to keep order, they are humans with gas mask on. I don't know why but maybe the have a hero they like to emulate or they wear it to intimidate the people in the city. The aliens from HL1 seem to be well know, people don't even go out side these Cities much.

They stay in them because they are safe, just like Dr. Breen says. The Combine might be genetical made humans with some cyborg implants that helps them in some way. Remember we have only seen the police Combines, not the soldier Combines. The police might be humans but the soldiers must be cyborgs with Xen implants or something.

My guess is that the Combine's idea of the best way to combat the alien menace is...if you can't beat them, join them. As in mutating themselves and their vehicles to incorporate Xen technology and life in order to fight the Xen aliens.

Here another theory from me:

I think that City-17 is a place where the best humans is being transported to make a new super race, and Gordon is one of the better humans so he´s being transported there too, but the citizens dont like this idea so they rebel........?
