computer colors and screen screwed?

HELP!!!! today i was playing hl and all of the sudden ny computer colors and stuff gets all screwed up and wierd so i pressed reboot button then when it booted up i got an error saying theres an critical system error something to do with my gefore 4 ti 4400 and it says please report this to microsoft bla bla bla then i do it and bla bla bla then all of the sudden it started messing up again.... and i got another critical error saying theres an critical error on your computer please save your items are reboot your harddrive and i tried it about 2 or 3 times and it still does it........ i can hardly even read what im typing... does anyone know the problem??? should i get a new graphics card??? should i get an driver update? is it my computer? monitor? the whole computer ????

ok, well, first off, try completely uninstalling your drivers, from the registry as well, then do a fresh install of new drivers

if that doesn't work, uninstall the device from you device manager (right click on my computer, click on hardware tab, click on device manager)power off your computer, take out your card, start up windows, then shut your computer off again. now, put your card back in, and windows will do a fresh install of the AGP drivers, and then go ahead and install the detonator drivers again.

now, if THAT doesn't work, you're probably gonna have to try a reformat and a fresh install of windows

and now if THAT doesn't work, your card probably fried itself, go buy a new one (9500 Pros are good :cheers: )

yep its fried tried everything... i only had it for 2 months it messed up due to a thunderstorm struck out power... then about 1 day later it screwed up.... i already got an new one...i got an geforce fx 5600 cause the 9500 pros were way too expensive (850$) and the geforce fx was cheaper (230$) with a 30$ mail in rebate

wtf? you saw a 9500 Pro for 850 dollars? are you serious? dude, my 9800 Pro only cost 350, there is no way a 9500 Pro cost 850. but, anyway, i wouldn't have recommended a 5600, 9500 Pros perform better imo
