Connection hangs on server list

Whenever I go to the server list and it gets me a list of servers, it always hangs my connection for a little while. If i leave it for a minute or 2 it reconnects and joins the server but its still annoying to have to wait! Any ideas? All ports/firewall are configured for steam, im outta ideas....

What is your firewall? And do you have a router or are you on a network?

Just the standard WinXP one, tried disabling it but still hangs on server list. Have a router, its aparently a "Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless G-Router. Part # F5D7632uk4".

Seems alright. I don't have anything tangible, so if it really bothers you, just remake your post at the Steampowered forums.
