No one else seemed to say anything about this. I did in another post....but I think its really cool and it shows some of how your HEV suit works....here was my original post

OOOO OOO OOOO.....but you know what I noticed!!!!!!!!!

In the video with the Buggy, and the cliff........... When Gordon gets zapped by one of those ball things when he hits it over the cliff....it takes some of his health...... he had 100 Health...and that was it..... so it took him down to like 90 something health...but it also gave him about 30 something Armor...... so it seems that now...electricity elswhere in the game can charge the HEV's armor!!!!!

Also I've herd that the Vortigaunts will charge your suit for you

So....it seems like electricity can give you armor. So like....if you were playing HL1 again, and you were at On a Rail , When you would accidentaly step on the tracks you would get hurt, but also gain armor.

If this has already been discussed in one of the gigantic threads, sorry. My bad.

it was discussed in another thread, however it was thought to be a glitch.

that is a damn nice idea though.

Yes, somebody said something about that with a reply.

Although it took only 3 life and gave 30+ armour. Sweet thing.

Wow, I watched the video again and you are right! That's so awesome!

Good eye Fender!

Its a bug... for the second time. When a new map is loaded, armor doesnt show up until you are hit by something. Keep watching the health in the video to the next scene with the house and combine. The combine shoots him and his armor comes up again.

I think not. I checked it and it´s just the HUD phasing out and appearing again. It happens again when the combines appear after that. It looks like gordon has no shield but then after being shot at the numbers appear making it seem like gordon got new armor. blaablaablaa

edit: slooooooooooooow

Kinda true. Just jump to some high voltage area and be ready to kick Striders ass with a crowbar.

Gordon the human rechargable battery!

Being charged all day really messes up your hair I reckon.

Yeah, you'd die, but your suit would be invincible!

I think a health/armour tradeoff of this sort would be very cool.
You'd need to think strategically.

Hey, you can't win invincible suit. And it gives good idea for a sequel:
HL2: The Suits Story

"It's not a bug, it's an undocumented feature!" -every programmer in existance

Ok....I think I know what the Armor is doing now.

I think they've made it so that the armor dosn't come up untill you get hurt. So thats why it looked like he lost 2 health and gained 30 armor.

I did hear though that the Vortigaunts will charge your suit for you.

So there's some form of electricity involved there.

Somebody should really send this to VALVe.

Err, why? It´s not a bug, just something helpful. I kinda like the need-to-know-HUD.

The idea that it must be a glitch because all you'd have to do is stand near a bust electricity line is flawed simply because the suit gets charged but you get fried.. 100 Armour and 0 life isnt gonna get you very far. Ive also seen talk about how it must also be a bug because at some point one of the globes hits Gordon and takes life but doesn’t give armor, id only say that the physics in HL2 are ment to be exceptionally realistic so if a globe hits you at speed the damage of been hit by a big steel ball against the lil jolt of armour it gives would probably still come out in damage all round. Corse its hard to tell when all you have is a video to go on. :)
