Creating sandbags

Way to be vague.

I don't have much choice to give a vague answer.

Use a sandbag texture or get a custom model.

As I'm sure that doesn't really help you, I have to get some more information from you before I can help you.

What game are you mapping for?

In HL1 the way to make a pile of sandbags was to make a brush with the sandbag texture on it. In source, I imagine making some good looking sandbags with the brush tool would be a little more difficult. You might want to use the models from DoD source or something. I don't know how to use custom models in a map so you'll have to wait for an answer on that or google it.

Mmk, there are many sandbag models in DoD Source. Use static prop entities. The sandbags in that screenshot are a model.

How do I get access to these sandbag models? I looked through all the entities. And there is only one weird sandbag texture. Will these sandbags automatically be bullet proof?

edit: I found how to get to static props. And found the sandbags...awesome thanks for the help

How do I create sandbags in hammer?

If you want to make nice ones, maybe try making them like a prefab. make a few different single sand bags, save them, then load a new map and load a few and arrange them to how you like and save it. do this a few times and you will have some nice detailed sandbags. or if you just wanna do a wall with a sandbag texture. just some ideas.
